COMMENTS
This hasn't been the best year in music by a longshot. Is it that our culture has become ever more disposable, or have recorded albums simply lost their onetime staying power? The last 12 months provided plenty of amusing musical trifles, for which I'm thankful. But there isn't one particular signifier of '07 that makes the year any more or less musically significant than its predecessor. So here's to 2008. Which is just four short years to the end of time itself — at which point jam bands will rule the crippled remains of the universe. Let's make this last handful of spins around the sun count, people!
