COMMENTS
10 records is far too small of a list to include all of my favorite sounds of the year. Here are some other records that rightly contributed to my loss of hearing.

Early Day Miners - Offshore. I think it came out last year, but I just discovered it. It's a slow grower but great. atmospheric.
Spoon - Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga
Albert Hammond Jr. - Your To Keep. Don't get me wrong I loved the Strokes' first (and most of the second) record, but Impressions was pretty unlistenable. Maybe we should put our future faith in Albert, because his debut is stellar.
Bat For Lashes - Fur and Gold
M.I.A. - Kala
Patrick Wolf- the Magic Position (Wolfie won me over this year. He'd the win the camp couselor of 2007 award, for sure)
Modest Mouse - We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Is Is - bring back the Karen O
Noisettes - What's the Time, Mr. Wolf? (strange album title; great record; even better live show)
Radiohead- In Rainbows (duh)
Jay-Z - American Gangster. Gotta Love the HOVA
Silverchair - Young Modern (Laugh, but I'm completely serious. If you're willing to give them the benefit of the doubt with their over the top orchestral arrangements, you're in for a great ride. And I don't even think the singer's cute anymore.)
Riskay - "Smell Yo Dick" (now I am joking, hysterical song though).
