COMMENTS
With all the crying about everyone's favorite music becoming commercial fodder, I was actually gratified to hear Professor Longhair's "Big Chief" being used to sell womens' deodorant- the NOLA legend was getting some mainstream recognition that he couldn't have dreamed of in his lifetime. Too bad he didn't live to see the royalties from that...

The fact that Poison would make a better covers album than Tesla isn't news but it is when they beat out Patti Smith on the same turf. Maybe it's because they chose less obvious songs from the Who and Stones or know how to do a ballad (from the Marshall Tucker Band, no less).

Sad to say that after a great tour, the Stooges reminded us why we all fear reunion albums.

It's a measure of how good Apples in Stereo's "Can You Feel It" is that after making it my ringtone and hearing it hundreds (OK, dozens) of times, I'm still not sick of the song.
