COMMENTS
There's much to say about this year but I haven't had the opportunity to pull all of my thoughts together (I am, of course, submitting this ballot at the last minute). I intend to place the essay that would have been in this place at my blog (linked below, and with no ads and no mp3s so I'm not trying to get page views or internet popularity or anything like that).

For the time being I would just like to thank everyone I met at the 2007 EMP Pop Conference, especially Ned Raggett. The experience helped draw me in certain directions, push me away from others, but also feel both more confident in my own critical voice and aware of the perspectives of my more experienced peers. (Plus I can properly identify the genders of Jody Rosen and Dominique Leone.)
