Yeah, gross, right? Sorry to scar you vicariously. That wasn't the worse of it, either. I used to hear endless overshare stories about her diaphragm malfunctions and icky affairs with married colleagues. Seriously, if she'd just asked me to get her coffee, I would have jumped for joy! Woohoo! Cup of coffee coming right up!

Ha! Thanks! I earned this fucking corner office. Lots of scut work and abuse, but I made it! And my assistants all LOVE me because I'm too scarred by my own experience to ever ask them to do anything inappropriate (like when I was an asst. and had to buy contraceptive jelly for my boss. Ick.)

Heya! I play guitar and keyboards--I use a virtual amp for the first and MIDI for the other. The VAmp is cool - I just plug it straight into my audio in on my Macbook. I tried a USB virtual amp and I forget which one, but it honestly didn't work much better than the one I have that uses the 1/8" plug, so it's what I use. If you'd like I can provide you a link to my (terrible) recordings.
On guitar I'm more of lame punk. On keyboards I'm sort of experimental electronica. I like to sing too, but I haven't found a good microphone. Or time to compose or practice. :)
I was honestly just curious about the other applications, but I'm actually pretty well-adjusted with Garageband and I need to spend more time just practicing and composing before I decide that higher-quality recording is something I really want to do.

So far as I know, there's not much legal distinction between hurting someone else's child and hurting your own, but people tend to have some instinct that the latter is worse -- that's surely most of the double standard here.
(It comes from the other direction, too -- there's a form of low-expectations bigotry involved in being somehow "unsurprised" that a man would beat a child to death (we put that down to a tragedy we almost "expect" to happen, to someone, somewhere), but being extraordinarily shocked and appalled that the child's mother would be either complicit in it or hapless to stop it.)
