My recommendations (note: all Canadians, since that's pretty much all I ever listen to or write about)
- Black Hat Brigade (they only have an EP, but they remind me of the Spencer Krug half of Wolf Parade)
- These Electric Lives (very polished U2-ish rock, minus the preachiness)
- i see rowboats (very similar to Beirut, but a bit noisier)
- Plants and Animals (prog-jam-jazz-rock; I know that sounds awful, but it's amazingly good.
